Though Algeria is far from attaining total literacy as of now, but literacy figs are not that bad. Approximately 70% population 15 years and above of age is literate. But there is a large void between male and female literacy, the figure is higher for males 78.8% as against 61% for girls. Thus besides concentrating on literacy, the Algerian government also needs to give focus on female literacy, so as to avoid gender biasing and other societal troubles.
